Port Credit is a great place to be if you enjoy being close to nature. With its lake views and a small community vibe, it's a neighbourhood that feels both lively and laid-back. The marina is usually filled with boats, giving the area an energetic feel, especially on weekends.
If you're into good coffee, Archtop Coffee Bar is a must-visit for their specialty brews and famous butter tarts. For meals, the family-owned Snug Harbour is a local favourite, offering fresh seafood with a view of the marina, especially when the patio is open. For those who love the outdoors, Port Credit has plenty to offer. Whether you enjoy walking, biking, or just hanging out in the park, the neighbourhood has great spots like J.C. Saddington Park and the Waterfront Trail, where you can enjoy peaceful lakefront views.
2. Streetsville
I’ve spent a lot of time in Streetsville, and it's easily one of my favourite spots in Mississauga. Known as "The Village in the City," Streetsville has a unique charm with its quaint streets and historic homes that date back to the 19th century.
If you're into community events, Streetsville is definitely worth checking out. The Streetsville Bread and Honey Festival is a big event with live music, food, and fun activities for everyone. And during the holidays, Christmas in the Village makes the area look like a festive wonderland.
Even though it's a small area, Streetsville has some great spots to eat. For pizza lovers, Goodfellas Wood Oven Pizza is a must-try, and if you’re in the mood for something sweet, Butter Avenue has delicious treats.
3. Erin Mills
Erin Mills is a great choice for renters, especially families who prioritize good schools and outdoor activities.
Located near the intersection of Erin Mills Parkway and Eglinton Avenue, it’s home to top-rated schools like John Fraser Secondary and Erin Mills Middle School.
For those who enjoy the outdoors, Erindale Park offers hiking and picnic spots, while the Credit Valley Trail is perfect for a scenic walk.
Erin Mills Town Centre is also nearby, providing plenty of shopping, dining, and entertainment options, including a movie theatre, all within easy reach.
4. Clarkson
Clarkson is a favourite among many of my clients. It’s a mix of beautiful parks and local gems, making it a standout choice for those looking for both natural beauty and a strong sense of community.
Did I mention that it’s right by Lake Ontario? Being by the water can always give a low-key, relaxed vibe. Rattray Marsh Conservation Area is an amazing park with beautiful trails and marshland.

Located near the main intersection of Lakeshore Road and Lorne Park Road, this area is known for its spacious homes and beautiful, green surroundings. Some of my clients really love how peaceful and upscale it feels here.

10. Mineola
Mineola is a peaceful, upscale neighbourhood in Mississauga, perfect if you’re looking for a more private and quiet and safe place to live.
While it’s one of, if not the priciest neighbourhoods in Mississaua, I’d had many clients ask about rentals in this area because it’s a central location with huge homes and big lots.
The Carmen Corbasson Community Centre, with its indoor walking track, gymnasium, and pool, adds to the neighbourhood's appeal, along with the nearby Cawthra Woods hiking trail.
11. Lakeview
Lakeview is a neighbourhood that's really changing, especially around Lakeshore Road and Cawthra Road. The lakefront is getting some exciting updates with the Lakeview Village project, including new parks, trails, and spaces for everyone to enjoy. It’s becoming a lively spot where you can find a good mix of homes and places to hang out.
This means renters can look forward to a growing community with a range of housing options, from affordable apartments to homes with great lake views.

It’s a popular pick for first-time renters and those wanting to stay close to the heart of Mississauga without breaking the bank. The community here has great services, including local centres with programs and lots of everyday amenities like grocery stores and medical facilities.
Plus, if you’re into outdoor activities, Mississauga Valleys has some nice parks like Mississauga Valley Park, which has walking trails, picnic spots, and playgrounds.

Credit Valley Public School and St. Dunstan Catholic School are some of the top schools in the area, so you'll have great educational options right here.

Applewood is a neighbourhood on the east side of Mississauga, right on the border with Etobicoke.
If you're looking for space, Applewood is a good bet, with wide lots that you don’t often find in newer areas. The homes here are a mix, from semi-detached and townhomes to apartments, so there's something for everyone.
Some of the houses might need a bit of updating, which could be a great opportunity if you're into personalizing your space. But if you’re after something move-in ready, you'll find plenty of options that have already been upgraded.
With parks and trails nearby, like Applewood Hills Park, it’s a great spot if you enjoy being outdoors and want easy access to green spaces.
15. Rathwood
Rathwood is a neighbourhood in Mississauga that offers a blend of comfort and community, perfect for those looking to rent in a peaceful yet connected area.
